The Confederation general de Trabajadores del Peru (CGTP) trade union has called for a nationwide general strike on Thursday, November 5, over various issues, including the cost of living, minimum wage, and recent reforms to collective bargaining laws. An associated demonstration is being planned at Plaza San Martin in Lima at 10:00 (local time) and further rallies are likely in urban centers across Peru on the day of the strike.
