Hundreds gathered in Tel Aviv on Thursday, November 5, in the latest demonstration against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his handling of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and charges of corruption. Protesters marched from Ramat Gan to central Tel Aviv, with minor scuffles with security forces reported as some protesters attempted to approach the home of Public Security Minister Amir Ohana, a Netanyahu ally.

Further protests over the issue are expected in the near term. A heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transport are possible in the vicinity of any demonstrations.

Protests have been reported throughout Israel in recent months over the government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Anger over the issue has been compounded by pre-existing anti-Netanyahu sentiment, with the Prime Minister facing three criminal cases over alleged corruption.

Those in Israel are advised to monitor developments, avoid protests as a precaution, anticipate transport disruptions in the vicinity of any demonstrations, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
