Emerging reports indicate that an explosion has occurred in the Hawle Wadag district in Mogadishu on Saturday, November 7. The blast was reportedly caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) near the Dayax Hotel, and the target was Osman Dufle, an MP in the federal parliament. The explosion resulted in at least one casualty and caused material damage in the vicinity.

Security and clean-up operations are likely in the vicinity of the incident in the near term, with an associated risk of localized disruptions. 


Those in Mogadishu are advised to avoid the abovementioned area in the immediate term, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
