Event

At least four police officers were wounded in the Braman area of Herat city on Monday, November 9, after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated. Reports indicate that a police vehicle struck the IED whilst on patrol in the area. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

A heightened security presence is likely in the area in the near term. Further attacks are also likely in Herat and across Afghanistan over the medium term.
