Event

An improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a military convoy in the village of Palkana in Tuz Khurmatu district (Salah-al-Din province) on Monday, November 9, killing two and wounding seven others. Those killed were members of the Oil Protection Force (OPF) and the wounded included Turkmen Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF). No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Further attacks are likely throughout Iraq in the near term. A heightened security presence is to be expected in the affected area while investigations into the incident continue.
