Firefighters tackled a blaze at a refugee camp on the Greek island of Samos on Wednesday morning, November 11, which is said to have burned through tents and several structures. There were no immediate reports of injuries or what caused the fire.
An emergency response presence and localized transportation disruptions, namely road closures, should be anticipated in the affected area.
More than 3800 people live in and around the Samos camp, a facility originally built to house just under 650.
Those on Samos island are advised to monitor the situation, avoid the area affected by the fires, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
