Unionized workers announced that they will hold a four-hour strike at General Motors (GM) facilities in Incheon (Seoul Metropolitan Area) and Changwon on Friday, November 13. Workers are demanding an increase in their salaries and that a next-generation vehicle also starts being manufactured at the GM plant in Bupyeong district in the city of Incheon.
It is expected that thousands will join the strike action and associated protests may take place alongside work stoppages, especially in the vicinity of the GM plants in the city of Changwon and in Incheon's Bupyeong district. Localized disruptions are possible if demonstrations take place.
Those in Incheon and Changwon are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
