Five security personnel were killed in a roadside blast in Qaramqul district (Faryab province) on Wednesday morning, November 18. Among those killed was Safar Mohammad Bidar, the police chief for Qaramqul district. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
Further attacks are likely to occur in Faryab province and across Afghanistan over the medium term.
