The Saudi-led coalition announced that they have destroyed at least two mines believed to have been placed by Yemen-based Houthi militants in the Red Sea on Friday, November 27. The precise location of where the mines were laid is currently unclear. The development comes after a mine detonated and damaged a tanker off Al-Shuqaiq (Jizan province) on Wednesday, November 25.

Further operations in the area should be expected in the near term.

Yemen-based Houthi rebels have launched hundreds of rockets, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into Saudi Arabia since 2015, when Saudi-led coalition forces intervened in the country's civil war in support of the Yemeni government.
