Event

Police in London have reportedly arrested more than 60 people on Saturday, November 28, as thousands of people gathered to demonstrate against government-imposed restrictions amid the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Several groups, including the Save Our Rights UK group, organized demonstrations in central London. Reports indicate the main march took place in the vicinity of Marble Arch, Oxford Street, and Regent Street. Video footage on social media outlets shows police and protesters scuffling on Oxford Street after a march passed the center of the capital. Police reported that the arrests were made for a number of different offenses, including breaching COVID-19 restrictions. Earlier on Saturday, police arrested three people for breaching COVID-19 restrictions at King's Cross St. Pancreas station.

Further associated demonstrations are possible in the near term. A heightened security presence and localized disruptions in the vicinity of rallies should be anticipated.

Advice

Those in London are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution, monitor developments, anticipate associated disruptions, and heed official instructions issued by local authorities.
