Suspected WWII ordnance prompts police to evacuate residents and erect cordons in Dortmund on November 30; avoid the affected area

A suspected World War II ordnance was found at an excavation site in the Feldstrasse area, east of Dortmund on Monday, November 30. Police have closed all roads within an 820-ft radius (250-meter) of the Feldstrasse area and have evacuated several buildings while disposal technicians deactivate the 250kg bomb. Authorities have stated that during the disposal, traffic restrictions will be in place on the S4 route between Unna and Lütgendortmund.

A heightened security presence and traffic disruptions are to be expected in the affected area in Dortmund over the coming hours.  


Individuals in Dortmund are advised to monitor developments, avoid the affected area, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
