Residual flight disruptions are expected on Tuesday, July 11, in the Washington, DC, area following an incident that occurred on Monday evening at the regional air traffic control center. Flights to and from the following airports could face delays and cancelations throughout the day: Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD).


The control center was evacuated on the evening of July 10, forcing the suspension of flights for several hours, due to an incident at a nearby construction site. Operations began to resume around 22:00 (local time).


Travelers are advised to confirm flight statuses prior to departure for the airport.
