Nationwide internet connection was restored on Tuesday, June 27. According to media reports, network service providers were forced to use internet satellite connections while technical teams repaired an undersea cable that was cut on June 9.


According to network providers, the West African Cable System (WACS) fiber optic cable that runs through the city of Pointe-Noire was accidentally cut by a fishing vessel, causing disruptions and outages across the country.


Individuals present in Congo are advised to anticipate normal internet service.
