Around 2000 members of the British Airways cabin crew union, Mixed Fleet Unite, are planning to hold a two-week strike from July 1 through July 16. Unite announced the strike following failed negotiations with British Airways on Friday, June 16. Some disruptions to normal operations are possible if the strike goes ahead as planned, although British Airways released a statement saying that flights will not be disrupted if the action takes place.

Cabin crews initially planned to strike on June 16 through Monday, June 19, but canceled it after British Airways initiated talks with the union. Unite said that British Airways refused to accept the union’s final compromise on the issue of cabin crew members being sanctioned for participating in strikes.

Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure to the airport on the above-mentioned days and to contact the airline for further details.
