Shots were fired in Munich’s Unterföhring subway station on the morning of Tuesday, June 13. According to the police the situation has been brought under control. The incident occurred while police were carrying out an identity check. It is unclear whether the shots were fired by the police or the suspect. According to media reports, a policewoman has been injured. The incident is not being treated as a terrorist incident.

The station has been evacuated as a precaution and trains have been temporarily halted on the line. It is unclear when traffic will resume.
