The Portuguese Met (weather) Office issued warnings regarding windy and hot weather conditions, conducive to wildfires, across southern Portugal for Wednesday, June 7. Firefighters are on high alert in the Algarve region, particularly the towns of Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira, Alcoutim, and Castro Marim.


Individuals in Portugal, particularly in Algarve, are advised to monitor the situation and to follow any instructions issued by the local authorities (e.g. potential evacuation orders).
