Police officials announced that the situation around the Notre Dame cathedral in central Paris is under control on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 6. According to the police, one officer was wounded after being attack near the cathedral. The suspected attacker was shot and wounded by responding officers. Both the suspect and the wounded officer have been taken to the hospital. A number of tourists have been kept inside the cathedral as a precaution and officials said they will be released after police officers carry out standard security checks. Media source reported that the Paris Prosecutor's office have opened an anti-terror probe into the incident. Avoid the area.
