Officials increased security measures in Dublin on Thursday, June 1, following a suspected gang-related shooting. Additional Gardaí (police) officers are patrolling the city and armed security checkpoints have been set up. The authorities are concerned that retaliatory attacks may be carried out in the coming days and weeks.

Detectives are investigating the murder of a 37-year-old man who was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in an underground parking lot on Dorest Street on Wednesday, May 31. Gardaí officials believe that he was the latest victim of an ongoing feud between the Hutch and Kinahan gangs that have resulted in at least 11 deaths.

Individuals in Dublin are advised to remain vigilant and to obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
