An indefinite strike launched by Avianca pilots on September 20 continues as of Friday, October 13. So far it has resulted in more than 3200 canceled flights, affecting more than 300,000 passengers. Further disruptions, including delays, are to be anticipated throughout the duration of the strike.
Avianca, Colombia’s national airline, has asked the Supreme Court to rule the strike illegal. The issue is currently being debated in the courts, a process that could take up to two months.
Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport.
