Ukraine: Bombing in Kyiv kills one October 25

An improvised explosive device detonates in Kyiv on October 25, killing one person and wounding three others, including a Member of Parliament; investigation ongoing

A suspected vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) detonated in the capital city of Kyiv late on Wednesday, October 25. The attack took place outside of the Espreso TV building on Mitskevycha Street in the Solomyansky district. At least one person was killed and another three wounded in the blast, including Ihor Mosiychuk, a Member of Parliament from the Radical Party. According to initial reports, the explosive device was placed either inside of a car or motorcycle parked outside of the building. The motive for the attack remains unclear and no group has claimed responsibility. An investigation into the bombing is ongoing; road closures in the immediate vicinity of the blast should be expected.


Individuals in Kyiv are advised to avoid the blast area while emergency response is ongoing and to report any suspicious items or behavior to the local authorities.
