A large fire spread through the National Assembly in the Ngoa-Ekelle area of Yaoundé on the night of Thursday, November 16. As of the early hours of Friday, November 17, reports say emergency crews have contained most of the blaze. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, the extent of the damage, or if there are any related casualties.


Individuals in Yaoundé should avoid the area surrounding the National Assembly and should anticipate transportation disruptions in the vicinity.
