Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in the capital Athens at 10:00 (local time) on Thursday, December 7, for an official visit scheduled to last until Friday, December 8. Increased security measures and traffic disruptions are to be expected in the capital throughout the visit.  

According to security officials, the following areas will experience noticeable disruptions (increased security presence, road closures, etc.) on December 7:


Individuals in Athens are advised to anticipate transportation disruptions (including road closures and increased congestion surrounding the visit), to cooperate with local authorities, and to avoid any potential demonstrations due to risk of violence.
