At least one person was killed in an explosion reported at a metro station in the Huddinge area of Stockholm on the morning of Sunday, January 7. The incident reportedly occurred at the Varby Gard metro station when the victim picked up an unidentified object, which subsequently detonated, killing him and injuring one other person. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and have stated that they have not yet determined the nature of the device, although unconfirmed reports indicate it may have been a hand grenade. According to police, there is nothing to indicate that the blast was terror-related, nor that either of the two victims were specifically targeted.
