Heavy snowfall - notably in the south of the country - has resulted in disruptions to travel in Iceland. The Icelandic Met Office has issued orange weather warnings (the second-highest on a five-tiered scale) for blizzard and dangerous travel conditions in the south, which remain in effect as of Wednesday, February 14. Hazardous driving conditions have been reported in these areas due to poor visibility, snow, and ice, with certain roads remaining closed or impassable.


Individuals present in affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, confirm travel reservations, and allow additional time for travel in affected areas.
