TIMEFRAME expected from 11/5/2018, 12h00 until 11/5/2018, 11h59 (UTC). COUNTRY/REGION Hong Kong

On Friday, May 11, Hong Kong authorities evacuated hundreds of people from the Wanchai business district after a 450 kg (1,000-pound) World War II bomb was discovered at a construction site. Roads in the district were cordoned off as experts defused the bomb.

This is the third such bomb discovered in Hong Kong in 2018. During WWII, Hong Kong was the site of heavy fighting between Japanese and Allied forces. More than 70 years later, construction workers still discover unexploded bombs from time to time.

Individuals present in the Wanchai business district are advised to stay away from the site where the bomb was found and to adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
