On Friday, June 8, a part of the Siddartha highway was obstructed at the Butwal-Palpa section due to a landslide near Madanpokhara. According to the reports, road travel in Arghakhanci, Gulmi, Palpa, Pokhara, and Syangja districts has been blocked. It is unclear when the highway will be cleared.
Heavy monsoon rains have triggered a number of landslides in the area; one casualty was reported in the first week of June.
