The Narayanghat-Muglin highway has been obstructed by a landslide that occurred on Tuesday, June 12, following torrential rain that struck overnight June 11-12. It is unclear when the highway will be cleared.

Landslides have also been reported in other locations, including Jalbire (Sindhupalchok district) and Kalikhola (Taplejung district).


Flooding and landslides are common in the Himalayan region of Nepal during the monsoon season, which typically spans from June until August.
