Further austerity measures demanded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) may be implemented in the medium-term in Barbados. As such, anti-austerity protests are possible in the coming weeks or months, notably in the capital Bridgetown.
This comes following USD 1.2 billion worth of government expenditure cuts announced in June, which the IMF has since called insufficient.
Individuals in Barbados are advised to keep abreast of the situation and avoid any protests as a precaution.
