Ground operations were temporarily halted at the Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport (SEA) in Seattle (Washington) at approximately 21:00 (local time) on Friday, August 10. Officials ordered the ground stop after an airline employee conducted an unauthorized takeoff from the airport; the plane is believed to have no passengers and later crashed near Puget Sound. It is unclear if there were any casualties from the incident. Operations resumed at SEA around 21:30; residual flight delays are possible in the coming hours. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
