Event

A bomb exploded in Piraeus (Attica region), near Athens, on the morning of Wednesday, August 22 (local time). According to local reports, an unidentified individual left a bag carrying the explosive device at the entrance to a building which hosts a tax bureau and law offices and then fled the scene before the bag detonated.

Though no casualties were reported, the blast resulted in damages to nearby vehicles and the facades of adjacent buildings. Police cordoned off the immediate area and opened an associated investigation. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the incident.
