A strike by London Tube workers on the Piccadilly line has been confirmed for September 26-29. No services are expected on the line between 13:00 (local time) on Wednesday, September 26, and 15:30 on Friday, September 28. After a brief reprieve, the strike will recommence Friday evening at 22:00 and continue until 08:30 on Saturday. The strike will notably affect journeys to and from London's Heathrow International Airport (LHR). All other Transport for London (TfL) services will be running as normal but services on the other lines will likely be busier than usual for the duration of the strike.
The Piccadilly line runs between Cockfosters in north London and Acton Town in the West. From Acton Town, it divides into two branches, one serving Heathrow and the other Uxbridge in northwest London.
Workers are demanding the implementation of policies promised by transportation officials.
Travelers are advised to plan alternate routes and allow for extra time to reach their destinations for the duration of the strike.
