Student protests took place nationwide for a third consecutive day on Thursday, December 6, reportedly becoming the widest protest observed by the country in years. Hundreds of protesters gathered in the capital Tirana, blocking the Ministry of Education, as well as the nearby Durresit road. Other demonstrations were reported in Elbasan, Durres, and Korca. Further protests are possible in the coming days, along with associated transportation disruptions.

Students have been organizing demonstrations since December 4 to denounce the rise in university fees and increasing economic difficulties.
