The UAE National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an orange weather alert (the second-highest alert on a three-tier scale) for heavy fog and high winds on Friday, March 15. According to local sources, visibility in some areas of the UAE was reduced to 2000 m (1.2 mi) and officials have recorded wind speeds of up to 55 kph (35 mph). Police in Abu Dhabi have also implemented speed restrictions of 80 kph (50 mph) on area roads due to dense fog. Hazardous weather conditions are forecast at least until 23:00 (local time) on Friday. Transportation disruptions (e.g. due to low visibility on roads) are likely.

Heavy fog is common in the UAE and often results in transportation disruptions, including flight delays and cancelations.

Individuals in the UAE are advised to monitor local weather reports, confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport, allow for extra travel time in affected areas, and exercise caution when driving.
