MTR officials announced on Tuesday, March 19, that there is no timeline for the completion of repair work on the Tsuen Wan line and service between Admiralty and Central Station will remain suspended indefinitely. Officials urged commuters to use the Island line between Admiralty and Central Station or seek alternate modes of transportation. Transportation disruptions and crowded conditions are expected to persist in the coming days.

Context

The Tsuen Wan line closed between Admiralty and Central Station on Monday, March 18, following a train collision at 03:00 during a test of the signaling system. Two drivers were injured and taken to the hospital.
