The Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir is planning to hold Friday prayers outside of the Danish Parliament building in Copenhagen on March 22, starting at 12:30 (local time). Supporters will gather at Christiansborg Slotsplads in support of the victims of the Christchurch shooting in New Zealand. Stram Kurs, far-right political party, is planning to hold a counter-demonstration at the same time and place. Additional police officers will be deployed in the area to prevent clashes between the two groups. Localized transportation disruptions are also expected in the area.
On March 15, at least one gunman attacked two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, killing 49 people.
Individuals in Copenhagen are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, and obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
