The CNTE (National Coordination of Education Workers) teachers' union has called for demonstrations to take place in Mexico City on Friday, April 5. Protesters are expected to gather at 09:00 (local time) at Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo) and march towards the federal congress building. A heightened security presence, along with associated traffic disruptions, are likely around the demonstration sites.


Teachers are protesting educational reforms. Similar protests took place March 20-28 at the Legislative Palace in Mexico City and resulted in road closures.
