A small fire broke out in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi on the evening (local time) of Wednesday, April 3, resulting in the closure of Terminal 1C. The fire began around 23:45 on Wednesday due to a baggage belt malfunction in Terminal 1C. The terminal was closed and all personnel evacuated with no injuries. According to a Kenya Airports statement on Thursday, April 4, Terminal 1C has been cordoned off and temporarily closed, with flights moved to Terminal 1B. Some congestion and flight delays are possible at NBO in the coming hours and days.
