Air traffic controllers (ATC) employed by HungaroControl, Hungary’s air navigation service provider, are threatening to hold a two-hour “warning strike” on Wednesday, April 17. The work stoppage will take place from 09:00 until 11:00 (UTC). According to Eurocontrol, ATCs are currently in negotiations and may launch indefinite daily strikes from 08:00 to 13:00 starting on Tuesday, April 23. Flight disruptions are anticipated in Hungary and the surrounding region if the strikes are carried out.
Individuals flying via Hungarian airports are advised to monitor developments to the situation, prepare for flight disruptions, confirm flight reservations before departing for the airport, and contact their airline for more information.
