India-based Jet Airways announced it would suspend service to Nepal until at least Sunday, May 5, amid ongoing financial difficulties. According to a letter sent to Nepalese officials, Jet Airways will no longer offer regular flights to Nepal for "operational" reasons. Jet Airways previously offered four daily flights to or from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) but had recently reduced service to two flights. An extension of the flight suspension is possible.
Individuals flying with Jet Airways to Nepal, and all destinations more generally, are advised to anticipate flight cancelations, monitor developments to the situation, make alternative travel arrangements, and contact the airline for more information.
