The national port services union has called for a three-day strike at all Tunisian ports from Tuesday, April 16, to Thursday, April 18. Port workers are reportedly organizing to demand the enforcement of previously signed agreements with the Office of the Merchant Marine and Port (OMMP), including, improvements to workplace conditions. Although the work stoppage is expected to primarily impact commercial maritime services, disruptions to maritime passenger travel are also possible during the work stoppage. Associated demonstrations cannot be ruled out. 


Individuals in Tunisia are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid potential protests and demonstrations as a precaution, prepare for associated disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
