Anti-fascist demonstrators are planning to protest in Brussels on Tuesday, May 28, in response to the EU elections, which saw numerous far right parties taking the lead in the votes. Protesters are expected to gather at from 18:00 to 20:00 (local time) at Place du Luxembourg.
A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be anticipated in the vicinity of the protest.
The EU held its ninth parliamentary election between May 23-26 since the first vote was held in 1979. A total of 751 Members of European Parliament (MEP) represent roughly 512 million people across 28 member states.
