Members of the Unite aviation union have voted to hold 12-hour strikes on Friday, June 7, and Monday, June 10, at Glasgow Airport (GLA) and Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ). The strikes will be held from 04:00 until 16:00 (local time) on both days. Union members voted to strike on Friday, May 24, over ongoing pay and pension disputes. AGS Airports, the group that operates the airports, has announced that measures will be taken to prevent disruptions during the industrial action. However, flight delays and cancelations, as well as disruptions to airport operations, are possible during the strikes.
Individuals flying to or from GLA or ABZ on June 7 and 10 are advised to keep abreast of the situation, confirm flight reservations prior to leaving for the airport, and anticipate disruptions to airport operations.
