Syria Alerte de sécurité

Car bomb detonates in A'zaz (Aleppo province) June 2, killing at least 14 people; similar attacks possible over the near term

TIMEFRAME expected from 2/6/2019, 12h00 until 4/6/2019, 11h59 (Asia/Damascus). COUNTRY/REGION Azaz (Aleppo province)

A car bomb detonated in A'zaz (Aleppo province) on Sunday night (local time), June 2, killing at least 14 people and wounding dozens of others. It was not immediately reported which group was responsible for the attack. Similar attacks are possible in northwestern Syria over the near term.

To date, the Syrian conflict involves many parties, including the Syrian government, the Russian government, the Iranian government, the Turkish government, a US-led coalition, and numerous armed groups on the ground (including the Islamic State) with competing goals.

Due to extremely poor security conditions, Western governments generally advise against all travel to Syria, with some banning travel to the country. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to any travel to Syria.
