Security personnel at London Luton Airport (LTN) will be on strike from Wednesday, June 5, to Tuesday, July 23, to denounce changes to shift patterns. The work stoppage began at 04:30 (local time) on June 5 and is expected to end at 20:59 on July 23. LTN officials have announced that measures will be taken to prevent disruptions during the industrial action. However, flight delays and cancelations, along with increased waiting times at screening areas, are possible during the work stoppage.
A related strike took place from May 1-13, and from May 23-June 3, to denounce changes to the security staff's work schedule, which would add 15 additional work days per year.
Individuals flying via LTN are advised to monitor developments to the situation, confirm flight reservations prior to departure for the airport, and anticipate disruptions to airport operations.
