Unite Union representatives announced that workers at Glasgow Airport (GLA) will strike for a third day on Friday, June 14, from 04:00 until 20:00 (local time). Workers at GLA and Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ) were already scheduled to hold 12-hour strikes from 04:00 until 16:00 on Friday, June 7, and Monday, June 10. According to union leaders, the additional work stoppage was approved on Saturday, June 1, after airport operating company AGS Airports allegedly withdrew from negotiations over ongoing pay and pension disputes.
Flight delays and cancelations, as well as disruptions to airport operations, are possible during the strikes.
Individuals flying to or from GLA or ABZ on June 7, 10, and 14 are advised to keep abreast of the situation, confirm flight reservations prior to leaving for the airport, and anticipate disruptions to airport operations.
