The Met Office issued a nationwide yellow level alert for heavy rain on Sunday, June 16, which is in effect until Monday, June 17, at 15:00 (local time). The Office also warned of wind gusts in excess of 55 km/hr (34 mi/hr) and of street or flash flooding during heavy downpours. Transportation disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are possible until at least Tuesday, June 18.
Individuals in Trinidad and Tobago are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate power, telecommunication, and transportation disruptions, including adverse driving conditions and road closures, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Remember that running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) is enough to knock over an adult.
