Event

Supporters of the Haitian Tèt Kale Party (PHTK) have called for nationwide protests to take place on Tuesday, June 18, to express solidarity with the government and President Jovenel Moïse following the recent demonstrations by the opposition demanding his resignation. However, the President asked his supporters not to take the streets to stop the curb instability ongoing for two weeks. Nevertheless, some supporters have still expressed their plan to protest as schedule and are expected to gather in the capital Port-au-Prince, at Avenue John Brown in the Lalue neighborhood, as well as on Martin Luther King Boulevard in the Nazon neighborhood.

An increased security presence, along with localized transportation disruptions, are likely around demonstration sites, notably in Port-au-Prince. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out.
