The Islamic State (IS) group has claimed responsibility for the two suicide bombing attacks against police facilities in Tunis on the morning (local time) of Thursday, June 27. The first attack targeted a police patrol near Rue Charles de Gaulle, while the second attack occurred at the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit building, located in the El Gorjani district. At least one policeman was reportedly killed and eight people were injured.

Further such attacks are possible in the near term.
