Ural Airlines released a statement on Tuesday, July 2, announcing that Czech aviation officials have canceled permits to operate service from Ekaterinburg and Zhukovsky (Russia) to Prague (Czech Republic). According to the airline, Czech officials did not provide a reason for suspending the flight permits. Earlier on July 2, Russian airline Aeroflot was also suddenly denied permits to operate its Moscow-Prague-Moscow flights. Aeroflot canceled most of its July 2 flights to Prague and one flight on Wednesday, July 3. It is unclear when service to Prague will be allowed to resume for either airline. Additional information can be found on the Ural Airlines and Aeroflot websites. Further flight disruptions are possible in the coming days.
Potentially impacted travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flight before leaving for the airport and to contact Aeroflot or Ural Airlines for additional information.
