London North Eastern Railway (LNER) officials are advising passengers to refrain from traveling on LNER trains on Wednesday, July 10, due to damage to overhead wires reported at Peterborough on Wednesday morning (local time). Services on all lines operating between Grantham and Peterborough stations have been suspended until at least the end of the day.
LNER has advised passengers to defer travel until Thursday, July 11, as affected trains are being canceled, severely delayed, or diverted. Tickets issued for affected trains scheduled to run on Wednesday will be accepted on trains running on Thursday. LNER passengers can also use their tickets on CrossCountry, TransPennine Express, Virgin Trains West Coast, Grand Central, and East Midlands trains during the disruption.
Individuals planning on traveling via the affected routes are advised to monitor developments, confirm train timetables, maintain flexible itineraries, and use alternative routes.
